Murat Yüksel

       Researcher and writer (b. 14 January 1947, Senirkent / Isparta). He finished primary and secondary schools in Senirkent (1961). He graduated from Isparta High School (1964) and Istanbul University, Faculty of Literature, Department of Arabian and Persian Languages and Literatures (1969). He worked as assistant in Konya Mevlana Museum (1970-71) and after his military service in Adana District Museum (1973-78). He served as director of City Public Library in Bursa (1978-86) and Trabzon. Since 1993, he continued his works as lector in Karadeniz Technical University, Faculty of Science and Literature, Department of Turkish Language and Literature.

His first article Gençliğimizin Fikir Buhranları (The Thought Crises of Our Youth) was published in a review in Konya. His other articles were published in the newspaper Karadeniz (Trabzon, 1993-95) and the review Yunus which he has published with his two friends since 1993. Because of his publications that are related with culture and history of Trabzon, he was given eight awards and certificates of the institutions in Trabzon. He is a member of the Professional Association of Scientific and Literary Work Owners of Turkey, the Foundation of Trabzon, the Green Crescent and executive committee member and general secretary of Writers Union of Karadeniz.
