Writer and journalist (b. 1914, Gaziantep - d. 23 July 2011,
İstanbul). He attended primary and secondary school in
Gaziantep. His high school education was terminated due to one of his articles
when he was in the final grade. In 1962 he started as a journalist at Haber
newspaper in Gaziantep. From 1966 he worked as a reporter, writer and
editor-in-chief at Bizim Anadolu, Hergün, Ortadoğu, Büyük Kurultay
newspapers in İstanbul. He was known for his lively articles written before 12
March 1971 and 12 September 1980. He was attacked twice because of his articles
and was injured. He was in prison for a total of five years by being among the
writers who were put on trial. He became famous for his research works about
Turkish history and the Ottoman rule, as well as his newspaper articles in
which he defended Turkish Nationalism.
