Poet, writer and translator (b. 1929, Skopje / Yugoslavia – d. 10 June
1988). He worked as a teacher in Turkish schools after he graduated from
Teachers School in Yugoslavia. He was known for the poems that were published
in the reviews Sevinç where he was
part of the administration for twenty years and Tomurcuk. He undertook the job of editorial writer for the
newspaper Birlik from 1969. He
introduced the literature of two countries to Turkish and Yugoslav readers with
translations from Turkish to Serbian and from Serbian to Turkish.
His translations, poems and articles have been published frequently in
Turkey in reviews such as Varlık, Türkiye
Yazıları, Milliyet Sanat etc. He was the first Macedonian Turkish writer
who had won an award when he won the Macedonian People’s Republic Government
Award in 1950. He also won the 1983 Tınay Award for his contributions to
introducing the Yugoslavian children’s literature writer Tınay through his
translations. His many books have been printed in Macedonian and Turkish.
