Storywriter (b. 5 February 1956,
Karyağmaz village / Dursunbey / Balıkesir – d. 10 April 1997, Ankara). He
attended primary school in Karyağmaz, and received the education to memorize
the Holy Koran in Dursunbey, and attended the İstanbul İmam Hatip High School
(1977). After graduation from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences
(1981), he began to work as a vice-inspector on the Inspection Board of the
Ministry of Finance (1983). He worked as a tax inspection officer at the same ministry,
and then entered the State Planing Organization as a translator of French in
1988. He went to Belgium for purposes of education and research (1989-90). He
died of liver cancer when he was 41 years old.
His first
short story was published in the newspaper Akşam in 1974. His other
stories, essays, diary, criticisms and translations from French appeared in the
reviews Aylık Dergi, Mavera, Yönelişler and in Kayıtlar, where he
was among the founders (November 1990 – June 1995).
