Mehmet Nurettin Artam

Poet and writer (B. 1900, Istanbul- D. October 26, 1958, Ankara). His full name is Mehmet Nurettin Artam. After he was graduated from Istanbul High School, he joined the First World War. He worked as literature and English teacher in Istanbul and Ankara High Schools. Because of the Second World War; he worked in propaganda, essay and book departments of Press and Media General Directorate.

He wrote passages in Vakit and Ulus newspapers with the pseudonym Toplu Iğne. He prepared the show “Radyo Gazetesi” and presented the official opinions of government in Ankara Radio. He translated from English. He wrote poets with syllabic meter in which mystique style could be sensed.
