1892, Edremit / Balıkesir – d. 17 January 1954, İstanbul). He attended
In the years of
War of Independence, he worked as the chief editor of the newspapers Doğru (Balıkesir) and Açıksöz (Kastamnonu). His literary conversations and various
articles were published in the newspaper Cumhuriyet
for many years. (These articles were not published as a book). İsmail Habib
Sevük’s most important work is Türk
Teceddüt Edebiyatı Tarihi (History of Turkish Renaissance Literature,
1925), in which he did research on Turkish Literature from the Tanzimat* Period
to the years the book was written in.
