     Writer (b. 1808, Arapkir – d. 1876, İstanbul). After having completed his education, he went to Egypt and entered into service of Mehmet Ali Paşa and married to his daughter Zeynep Hanım. Even he fell into disfavor at the period of Abbas Paşa, he managed to regain higher positions with the support of Mustafa Reşid Paşa. He served as a grand vizier, minister, member of state council and prime minister for a time. He was buried in the garden of Zeynep Kâmil Hospital that he has it built in Üsküdar with his wife.

He is known for his translation of Les Aventures de Télémaque by Fenelon, the first novel translation in Turkish literature. He also wrote poems in prosody.
