Singer, author, actress (B. 1936, Bari / Italy D. November 14, 2011, Istanbul). She was the former wife of theatre and cinema actor Kerim Afşar, and Prof. Dr. Oktay Sinanoglu's sister. She has three brothers from the first wife of her father. She was born in Bari/Italy as her father was a diplomat. After graduating from Ankara College, she completed the Department of Piano, Ankara State Conservatory. She has received voice and singing lessons from Madame Hidalgo, Madame Böhm. She entered the State Theater as a pianist in 1940. She worked as a guest actress in Ankara Meydan Stage. Then she concentrated on music only. She worked on Turkish light music with lyrics, which was also known as "arrangement". She had support from Ruhi Su in the form of contemporary folk music.  She was very successful in her area and gave several concerts both within and outside Turkey; received numerous awards. She translated "Kırmızı Pabuçlar" (Red Shoes) in 1980 and it was staged in Ankara and Istanbul State Theatres and on TV for four years. She prepared the "Yunus Emre" tape.

She participated in several social associations. She was a member of Çağdaş Yaşamı Destekleme Derneği, Atatürkçü Düşünce Derneği, Türkiye - Yunanistan Dostluk Derneği (executive board), Sokaktaki Çocukları ve Gençleri Koruma Derneği (founder), Sigara İçmeyenler Derneği, Beyoğlu'nu Güzelleştirme Derneği ve Müzik Dostları Derneği (executive board). She has a grandchild named Hazal Bulut from her daughter Pinar Afsar; and two grandchildren named Mavi Derin and Esin Mira from her son Aydincan. She died on November 14, 2011 and buried in Karacaahmet Cemetery.
