Writer ((b. 1924, Çivril / Denizli – d. 13 Ocak 2014, İzmir). He attended Gazi Secondary School and the Commercial High School for two years. Then he entered Ankara State Conservatory, Department of Theatre (1949) and worked as an actor at the State Theatre and İstanbul Municipal Theatre. He began writing with poems but then he concentrated on short stories which were published in the reviews and newspapers Fikirler, Anadolu, Seçilmiş Hikâyeler, Yeni Edebiyat.

In addition to his novel and short stories, he adapted various Turkish and foreign novels for radio. His play Utanmaz Adam (Unashamed Man), which he adapted from the novel of the same by Hüseyin Rahmi Gürpınar, was staged at Ulvi Uzar Theatre in 1966. He adapted the novel Sultan Hamid Düşerken (When Sultan Hamid Falls Down). He won the Ankara Art Appreciation Association Best Playwright of the Year for the season of 1975-1976 with his play Düşüş (The Fall). He won the 1998 Novel Award with his book Hücre 1952 (The Jail 1952)
