Charitable
woman, volunteer babysitter (b. 1938, Besiktas / Istanbul - d. 4 December 2020).
Oya Kayacık was born in 1938 in Beşiktaş. She spent her childhood and teenage
years there and after graduating from Robert College in 1961, she started
working in Kasımpaşa Orphanage with her uncle’s suggestion. After a period of
rough times, the orphanage formed Kasımpaşa Orphanage Association and Oya
Kayacık continued her work as the president of it. Orphanage kept its order
with the efforts of the association until 1999. This order was lost with
Marmara Earthquake of 1999 and the orphanage’s first building was demolished in
2001 to build a new one. The period when orphanage did not have a building of
its own went on for 7 years and a much more functional building was made
eventually, with the contributions of Oya Kayacık and the donations from the
public. During the time in the second building, the orphanage reached a much
better monetary condition.

"Oya
Kayacık was 82 years old... she was born and raised in Nişantaşı, and graduated
from Robert College. 61 years ago, when she was a 21-year-old young girl, she
entered the Kasimpasa Kindergarten to take part in a social responsibility
project, she never left again. She lived in the nest with these children, whom
she said, ”They came out of my heart, not my stomach."..
He

Unfortunately,
the Mothers of "some" orphaned children Died... He Spent His Rich
Family's Fortune on Orphans.
On
the day I first met Ms. Oya, a small abandoned baby came to Kasimpasa
Kindergarten...he took me to him...he was sleeping in his own bed...”I raise
very small babies like this in my bosom," he said...she was such a
beautiful person...May he rest in peace in the light. Here is the Visible State
of Heaven, Heaven Exists For These People.”
