Storywriter and novelist (b. 23 April 1930, Ankara - d. 29 February 2012, Ankara).
He comes from an old Ankara family. He attended primary, secondary and high
school in this city. After high school, he worked in journalism and theatre. He
has written serialized novels under pen names for the newspaper Akşam.
His first novel, Sessizler Sokağı (The Street of Silence) had great
impact. Later on, he gave up writing literature and concentrated on economics.
He published a magazine and wrote books on economy. He went abroad to France
and experienced the turbulent days of the year ‘68. He did his doctorate
studies in Rannes. He worked in management positions in Zurich and Vienna. When
he returned to Turkey, he again worked as a journalist. He writes articles for
the newspaper Dünya Kitap. He won the
Ministry of Culture Grand Award held on the 75th Anniversary of the
Republic with his novel Ankara 1920
(Ankara 1920). He is a member of the Antalya Artists Association (chairman
for a while).
