Abdulkadir Badıllı

Researcher-writer (B. September 1936, Şeyh Züleyha Village/ Akziyaret District/ Şanlıurfa- December 26, 2014, Ankara). He is a close student of Badiüzzaman Said Nursi, from Badıllı Tribe. When he was around 7 or 8, he began to read Koran. After this, he studied Ottoman writing, reading and math (old-school) for periods of three or four months each.

In 1953, his visit to Badiüzzaman Said-i Nursi in Isparta was a turning point for his life. After this visit, he began to stay at Nur madrasahs in Urfa with the permission of Nursî and continued to read and write Risale-i Nurs (Epistles of Light). Badiüzzaman sent him the books Sözler, Tılsımlar, Mesnevi-i Nuriye, Hizbu’l Hakaik-in Nuriye to write, he wrote them and sent back for revision. These books were revised by BSN, and some of them were sent to the places where required. Some of them were given back to him..

He began to his writing career with his articles titled as “Haftada Bir” in Yeni Asya newspaper in 1970. By the time, he preferred investigative writing rather than journalism. All his books were about Risale-i Nur topics. He couldn’t have time and opportunity to write about something else other than these topics. Two of his books are translations, and the rest are compilations and researches. In 1992, Harran University Rectorate gave him an honorary Ph.D. in 1996, Seyyid Alevi Maliki the Scholar from Mecca gave him an honorary diploma in Islamic Sciences.
